Job Summary
Cobb Industrial Inc. (CII) is a Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector based out of Holly Springs, GA. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support procurement operations within the steel industry. The ideal candidate will assist and support the Purchasing Manager in day-to-day tasks, sourcing materials (ensuring materials are ordered, received, reconciled, and filed in a timely manner), supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement to support production and supply chain efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Working with the Purchasing Manager to ensure that Purchasing tasks are completed in an efficient, effective, and timely manner while ensuring that cost saving measures are being taken every step of the way.
- Learn purchasing process and procedures that meet both CII and AISC standards.
- Assist Purchasing Manager with Order Entry.
- Assist Purchasing Manager with material procurement.
- Receiving and Reconciling Supplier bill of ladings against open purchase orders.
- Recording, Scanning, and Filing BOL’s, MTR’s, and Heat Numbers.
- Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
- Retrieving documentation from Suppliers’ and CII personnel as needed.
- Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
- Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
- Responsible for maintaining leased tool inventory.
- Responsible for regularly booking travel accommodations for field crew members and upper management.
- Responsible for tracking travel costs.
- Responsible for purchasing office supplies and managing inventory.
Required Skills:
- Must be able to type a minimum of 35 words per minute (wpm).

Preferred Skills:
- Prior Purchasing Experience
- Prior Experience in the Steel Industry

- Experience using Tekla PowerFab
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
