Position Overview
The Safety Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting and advancing Cobalt Civil’s safety culture. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, provides training and guidance to project teams, and promotes proactive safety initiatives across all job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor company safety programs, policies, and procedures on active job sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for field personnel.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses; maintain proper documentation and follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory standards.
- Support project management teams in developing site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation as required.
- Promote and reinforce Cobalt Civil’s “Safety-First” culture through communication and leadership.
- 2-4 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in heavy civil, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required).
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in the field and office.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
