Job Summary
Coatings Unlimited is seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-driven Estimator to support the success of our industrial coatings and fireproofing projects. This role works closely with clients, vendors, project managers, and field leaders to ensure bids are accurate, strategic, and aligned with both customer expectations and company values.

Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, RFQs, and contract documents
- Prepare accurate and complete material, labor, equipment, and subcontract estimates
- Build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to support continuous success
- Analyze project risk, logistics, and production strategies with PMs and field leadership
- Assist in proposal writing, bid packaging, and pricing strategies
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client discussions
- Support handoff meetings and project transition from estimating to operations
- Collaborate with project management to ensure estimate and execution stay aligned
- Communicate assumptions, risks, and opportunities clearly and confidently
- Contribute to development of estimating tools, historical data, and process improvements
- Participate in training and development that supports personal and team success
- Demonstrate professionalism and represent the company’s values at all times
Qualifications
- Prior estimating experience — construction or industrial field preferred
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-first mindset with ability to collaborate across departments
- Proactive problem-solving approach and willingness to ask questions
- Proficiency in Excel and estimating software or systems
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Motivated learner interested in continuous improvement and professional growth
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (not required with proven experience)
