Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate Attorney located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Associate Attorney will provide legal representation and advice in Family Law cases, prepare and present cases in court, and negotiate settlements. Additional responsibilities include conducting thorough legal research, regular interaction with opposing parties and counsel and the Court, drafting legal documents, and collaborating with clients to address their Family Law challenges in a cost effective fashion in adherence to the firm’s values.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational skills in Law, with a focus on Family Law/TRO process and procedures
- Experience providing Legal Advice and supporting clients through complex Family Law matters
- Proficiency in legal research and preparation of legal documentation (i.e., pleadings and motions)
- Negotiation skills to advocate for clients effectively in a variety of Family Law settings, to include in court and with opposing parties and counsel and mediators
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and valid license/active membership in good standing with the Hawaii State Bar Association
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with clients and handling sensitive Family Law matters, to include ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers, the Court and others
- Prior experience in Family Law and Mediation is advantageous
