Role Description The Crew Member role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bloomington, IN. The Crew Member will assist with landscaping and hardscaping projects, including site preparation, installation of materials such as pavers, stone, soil, and mulch, and general yard cleanup. Daily tasks may include operating basic landscaping tools and equipment, loading and unloading materials, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and supporting the lead crew members on retaining walls and yard transformation projects. The Crew Member will follow project plans, safety guidelines, and instructions from supervisors, while working outdoors in varying weather conditions. This role requires dependable attendance, effective teamwork, and a commitment to quality workmanship and respectful treatment of client properties.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work, including lifting, digging, carrying materials, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping or construction practices, such as grading, planting, and installation of hardscape features (retaining walls, pavers, edging).
- Comfort using common hand tools and light equipment (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows; experience with mowers or compact equipment is a plus).
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to work in various weather conditions while following safety procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take direction and collaborate respectfully with crew members and supervisors.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, organized job sites and protecting client property.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Bloomington, IN preferred.
- Prior experience in landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor is helpful but not required; readiness to learn and grow in the role is essential.
