CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY TEACHER (BITA)

$41.00 hr. - $63.14 hr. plus 25% preparation time (minimum hourly rate)

THE POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Administrator, Educational Services instruct high school students on the introductory, intermediate, and advanced skills necessary for a career in the construction industry. The teacher will expand and enhance the program using technology, industry field trips, coordination of guest speakers, active participation in student competitions, and continued student recruitment in the Construction Pathway. The Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA 1-4) curriculum will be used to instruct the skills necessary for a career in the construction industry. The BITA curriculum is a recognized elective program by the University of California.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify necessary equipment and classroom supplies to reach stated course objectives.
- Assist in curriculum development and/or revision
- Establish and maintain a well-disciplined and orderly classroom learning environment.
- Instruct high school students in a classroom setting.
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades, progress reports, and attendance.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with approved course outline(s).
- Participate in advisory committee meetings and professional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- (3) years of related work experience or (1) year of related work experience and 48 semester hours of related postsecondary vocational training
- Possess or be eligible for a Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential
- High School diploma or equivalent
