Coastal Women's Healthcare is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our in-house billing team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate reimbursement by managing claims throughout the revenue cycle, from charge entry and payment posting to denial resolution and insurance follow-up.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with medical claims, insurance carriers, coding, payment posting, and denial management. OB/GYN billing experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review, enter, and validate patient charges and coding information
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and efficiently
- Monitor claims through the reimbursement process and follow up on outstanding claims
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments
- Submit appeals and supporting documentation to insurance carriers as needed
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim and payment issues
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
- Assist patients with billing questions, payment processing, OB prepay accounts, and balance inquiries
- Collaborate with providers and staff to support accurate charge capture and reimbursement
Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or insurance reimbursement required
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing processes
- Experience with payment posting, denial management, and claims follow-up
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Professional communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- OB/GYN billing experience preferred
