Your Role:
As a Recycling Specialist you will be responsible for directing vehicles, ensuring safe operations, and performing various labor tasks at our waste management facility.
- Sort and segregate recyclable materials such as paper, glass, plastic, and metals from the waste stream
- Inspect materials and remove contaminants or non-recyclable items from the conveyor belt
- Operate and maintain recycling machinery and equipment, following safety regulations
- Place sorted materials into appropriate containers or areas for further processing
- Keep the working area clean and free from safety hazards
- Follow procedures to ensure the quality of sorted materials
- Wear appropriate safety gear and adhere to all safety policies
- Report any machinery malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in waste management or a similar role is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments
- Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
