CDL Training Instructor – Baton Rouge Campus

At Coastal Truck Driving School, our mission is simple—train safe, skilled, and job-ready CDL drivers. As a CDL Instructor, you’ll play a critical role in helping students succeed outside traditional daytime hours.
This position is ideal for individuals who prefer a structured evening and weekend schedule while making a direct impact in a hands-on training environment.
Schedule (Full-Time – 40 Hours)
- Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Monday – Friday: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
What You’ll Do:
- Train students in Class A CDL operations, including backing, road driving, and pre-trip inspections.
- Teach DOT regulations, safety standards, and real-world driving practices.
- Provide both hands-on and classroom instruction.
- Evaluate student performance and prepare them for testing.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Coach and follow up with students to support their success.

Minimum Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL (Required)
- Current DOT Medical Card
- 3 years of Class A driving experience (Required)
- Reliable transportation
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred (but not required):
- Previous CDL instructor or training experience
