Position Summary
The Lawn Care Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising lawn maintenance crews while ensuring high-quality landscaping and lawn care services for residential and commercial properties. This role involves coordinating daily work assignments, operating equipment, training team members, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead lawn care crews on a daily basis.
- Assign tasks and monitor crew productivity and quality of work.
- Perform and oversee mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, blowing, and general landscape maintenance.
- Effective time management and route optimization.
- Ensure proper application of herbicides, and other lawn treatments according to company and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate and maintain lawn care equipment, trucks, trailers, and tools.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Train new employees on company procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Communicate with customers professionally and address service concerns when needed.
- Monitor job sites to ensure work is completed efficiently and meets company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and crew time.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Report equipment issues, accidents, property damage, or customer concerns to management promptly.
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years of lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance experience.
- Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of lawn maintenance practices, plant care, and landscape equipment.
- Ability to safely operate commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- GIBMP Certified
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in heat, humidity, cold, and other outdoor environmental conditions.
