Job Details:
We are seeking a Geotechnical Field Technician to support testing operations at construction sites throughout the United States. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in construction, geotechnical testing, construction materials testing (CMT), DOT inspection, surveying, heavy civil construction, utilities, or related field services.
No prior foundation testing experience is required. We are looking for dependable individuals with strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn specialized testing methods and equipment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, traveling, solving problems, and being part of major construction and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of specialized testing equipment
• Support geotechnical and foundation testing operations on active construction projects
• Collect, document, and verify field data accurately
• Perform testing activities in accordance with company procedures and client requirements
• Assist with load testing, integrity testing, vibration monitoring, and related field services
• Maintain and troubleshoot testing equipment as needed
• Prepare field reports and project documentation
• Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients
• Travel extensively to project sites throughout the United States
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in construction, geotechnical testing, construction materials testing (CMT), DOT inspection, surveying, utilities, heavy civil construction, drilling, or related field services preferred
• DOT, roadway, bridge, transportation, or infrastructure project experience is a major plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn specialized equipment and testing procedures
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Basic computer skills and ability to document field activities accurately
• Valid driver's license required
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively
Major Plus:
• Experience with DOT inspection or transportation projects
• Background in construction materials testing (CMT) or geotechnical field services
• Experience working on bridge, roadway, utility, or heavy civil construction projects
• Mechanical, electrical, or equipment troubleshooting experience
• Prior experience traveling for work
