We are growing and looking for detail-oriented, dependable, and hospitality-driven Housekeeping Team Members to join our team.

Position Overview

This is a W2 full time or part time position. We are hiring for positions in Traverse City and Leelanau County (Glen Arbor, Lake Leelanau area). Please specify which position and area you are interested in.

Housekeepers are essential to our brand reputation. In the short-term rental industry, cleanliness directly impacts reviews, revenue, and repeat bookings. You are not just cleaning a home — you are preparing a five-star guest experience.

Typical working hours: 9:00 AM – 4500 PM

Final schedule discussed during interview and on-boarding.

What You’ll Be Responsible For Property Turnover & Cleaning

• Complete full turnover cleans between guest stays
• Change and professionally make beds according to Coastal Stay standards
• Replace and stage towels, linens, and amenities
• All Laundry will be done at Coastal Stays office.
• Consumables and linens will be packed at Coastal Stays office.
• Restock toiletries, paper goods, and hospitality items
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize all surfaces
• Clean kitchens thoroughly (appliances, dishes, cabinets, countertops)
• Deep clean bathrooms to hotel-level standards
• Inspect outdoor areas (if applicable) and tidy patios, decks, entryways
• Ensure trash is removed and bins are placed appropriately

Quality Control & Reporting

• Conduct detailed property inspections during every clean
• Report damages, missing items, maintenance concerns, and inventory shortages
• Log and properly handle lost-and-found items
• Document before/after photos when required
• Communicate promptly with the Housekeeping Lead or Property Manager

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Participate in scheduled deep cleans
• Assist with seasonal refreshes and property resets
• Support staging updates or brand standard adjustments when needed

Team & Culture

• Adapt to schedule changes (short-term rentals require flexibility)
• Work efficiently while maintaining high standards
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
• Represent Coastal Stays with professionalism and pride

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have prior housekeeping or hospitality experience (hotel or short term rental experience preferred)
• Understand that details matter — guests notice everything
• Work efficiently within time-sensitive turnover windows
• Have strong time management skills
• Are physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and being on their feet for extended periods
• Are dependable and punctual
• Have reliable transportation
• Are comfortable using checklists and digital communication tools
• Take initiative and ownership in their role
• Maintain a positive attitude and solution-focused mindset
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard environment

Weekend availability is required during peak season. (May-September)
