Position: Programs & Events Associates
Status: Part-Time: Variable Hours
Hours: Days and Hours dependent upon need
Reports to: Marketing and Events Manager
Position Overview:
The Programs & Events Associates will support Coastal Roots Farm’s Education Department with public-facing programs and events. This position is responsible for providing a safe, clean, fun, and educational experience to all Farm visitors. This position supports the arrival and guidance of all visitors to Coastal Roots Farm as well as support to the education department in implementing public Farm experiences.
The Programs & Events Associate ensures that all Farm visitors can safely orient themselves on the Farm and can enjoy a positive experience exploring nature.
During the peak summer season, the Programs & Events Associate may be eligible for extended hours to support additional events and programs including Farm Film and Music Series, Farm-to-Table Dinners and other community events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Physical Duties:
· Set up and take down of equipment including chairs, tables, AV systems, projector, lights, water stations, waste removal and other necessary items.
· Ensure all facilities are clean, organized and safe for visitors and staff.
· Facilitating the proper organization and cleanliness of event spaces.
· Welcoming guests to the Farm and facilitating check-in.
· Inspecting inventory to ensure proper supplies.
· Serving food and drinks to attendees.
· Cleaning and returning equipment to proper storage space.
Administrative Duties:
· Provide high levels of customer service
· Utilize Salesforce and Square for point of sale, data entry, and other relevant financial exchanges for taking payments at events.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Uphold and enforce all necessary safety precautions.
· Lead Farm Tours and attend team meetings as appropriate.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
· High School diploma or FED
· Excellent communication, computer, sales, cash handling, and time management skills.
· Strong organizational skills
· High levels of attention to detail.
· Enthusiasm for working in a high energy team environment.
· Experience working in customer service.
Compensation
$17-$18

Typical Working Conditions
The Programs & Events Associate will work mostly?outdoors and occasionally in the office. There will be exposure to Southern California outside temperatures, chemicals used in the agricultural industry, and loud noises.

Coastal Roots Farm was incubated by the Leichtag Foundation in 2014 and received 501(c)(3) public charity status in 2015.
