Production Supervisor - Poultry Processing

Purpose/Scope:

• Supervises and coordinates activities of employees in assigned department. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed while producing a quality, cost effective product in a safe and timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Trains, directs, and ensure employees meet requirements and job function according to company, state, and federal guidelines.
• Ensures product and processing meets required standards and guidelines of customer, federal and state.
• Plans and schedules manpower; people, positions, work schedules, and flow.
• Interprets company policies to employees and enforces regulations.
• Maintains production records.
• Ensures goals are met daily and improve morale in department.
• Reports machine and equipment malfunction to maintenance personnel.
• Reports product production, efficiency, and other production related data to Management.
• Ensures department and production area is neat, clean, and safe for operations.
• Ensures that all employees use required PPE and follow all safety guidelines of the Company.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Areas of Responsibility:

• Will be responsible for line/lines within Poultry Processing Department. Supervises 20-60 employees depending on area.

Qualifications: (Required/Desired)

Skills & knowledge needed for the effective performance of essential job functions:

• Must have good Supervisory and leadership skills
• Must have good computer skills.
• Must have good math skills.
• Able to read, write and verbally communicate effectively to employees at all levels (English).
• Must be able to make sound decisions and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand duration of shift – all scheduled hours.
• Workable use of both hands and able to grasp.
• Good eye sight (with or without corrective lens).
• Able to perform repetitive task.
• Able to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, and stoup.
• Able to lift 3 to 75 lbs. in weight.

Environmental Conditions:

• Environment is cold or hot and wet depending on season.
• Sound fluctuates from quiet to loud.
