Hard Chrome Plating Supervisor
A career opportunity for a hands-on supervisor to manage and oversee a large hard chrome operation plating heavy equipment components. The company is well managed and offers a great long-term growth opportunity for the right person.
Hours: Full time.
Salary: $45,000 - $70,000/yr. depending on qualifications.
Benefits: After training and evaluation period - 100% medical, 5 paid holidays a year, 2 weeks paid vacation, annual and Christmas bonuses based on performance.
Location: East Coast Texas (must be willing to relocate)
Job Description
1) Oversee and manage a large chromium plating operation.
2) Control of production.
3) Maintenance of the equipment used.
4) Maintenance of chemical processes and laboratory testing.
5) Fabrication of fixtures and anodes.
6) Manage the honing operations.
7) Perform QC checks with micrometers and other instruments.
8) Manage the workforce. Train and mentor other plating technicians.
9) Responsibility for specification and tolerance controls.
10) Packaging of finished products for shipping.
11) Maintaining inventory levels sufficient to support production.
12) Maintain a clean and orderly plating and lab area.
13) Manage the company’s worker safety and environmental protection programs.
Qualifications
1) A high school education as a minimum.
2) At least five years of experience plating hard chrome, both OD & ID.
3) Familiar with stop-off, fixturing and anoding procedures.
4) Handy with tools and machinery.
5) Ability to diagnose and remedy defects in production and maintain a PM program.
6) Familiar with rectifiers and DC bussing circuits.
7) Ability to fabricate conforming anodes is a plus.
8) Fluent in the English language; Spanish as a second language is a plus.
9) Familiar with OSHA and EPA regulations and be safety/environmentally oriented.
10) Have training in and the ability to work with hazardous materials.
11) Ability to follow directions and maintain records.
12) Possesses normal computer skills including Word and Excel.
13) Ability to manage and communicate with a workforce.
14) Be a hands-on, reliable, detail oriented, punctual self-starter.
15) Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and a drugscreen, with random testing.
16) Must be a U.S. Citizen.
17) Ability to lift 50 pounds.
