Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for pediatric patients across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and current clinical guidelines.
- Manage acute illnesses and injuries, utilizing skills in triage, and infection control protocols.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, following proper medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans for patients with complex needs such as developmental disabilities or chronic conditions like gastroenterology or infectious disease care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) system, Athenahealth.
- Educate families on health promotion, disease prevention, medication administration, nutrition, and developmental milestones.
- Support telehealth consultations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the highest standards of patient confidentiality throughout all interactions.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in diverse settings such as pediatric clinics, hospitals, or urgent care environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation and patient management.
- Experience managing complex cases involving behavioral health issues.
- Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10) for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
