Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality orthopedic and neurological X-rays following physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Prepare, adjust, maintain, and sterilize diagnostic imaging equipment and examination rooms.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients, answer questions, and help alleviate concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Position patients and imaging equipment correctly to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently to capture all required views.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare team members regarding imaging needs and additional studies.
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and procedure notes.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and utilize protective devices to minimize patient exposure.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiation protection principles.
- Support a safe, efficient, and patient-centered clinical environment.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- New grads and experienced technologists encouraged to apply.
- Current Registered Technologist license in the State of Florida.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong technical and patient care skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced orthopedic practice.
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and professional excellence.
- Ability to lift, pull, or reposition patients and equipment up to 50 pounds independently; assistance is required for heavier loads.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to operate radiographic equipment safely.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Primarily works in a climate-controlled clinical setting.
- Limited exposure to infectious materials and occupational radiation, with appropriate safety measures and protocols in place.
