- Verify all new patients’ insurance authorizations both primary and secondary payors.
- Verify accuracy of data entry for all new patients.
- Ensure that all information is gathered and Latern referral is appropriate for the care being potentially provided.
- Verify the patient is eligible for service(s) and prior approval has been granted before initiating services.
- Provide necessary paperwork to accurately bill accounts; and other duties as assigned.
- Collect insurance policy IDs and verifying benefits and checking price estimates for procedures scheduled.
- Notify patients of estimated charges based on claims processed to date.
- Explain patient’s deductibles and out of pocket expenses as necessary.
- Document all contact with patients, doctors, and insurance companies in NextGen
- Pre-registration and registration of patients, receiving and directing incoming calls.
- Communicate to physician and team regarding patient information
- Responsible for alerting vendors of implant needs
- Order lunch for physician daily
- This role is also the back up person to the front desk.
- General hours are 9:30a-6:00p
- Front Desk vacation coverage, the role is required to come in at 5:00a-2:00p
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Two years experience in the medical office setting preferably with surgical scheduling responsibilities and extensive public contact.
- Minimum one (1) year experience as an Insurance Verification Representative.
