What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and secure insurance pre-authorizations and referrals for elective, urgent, and emergent procedures.
- Verify in-network and out-of-network provider status and process authorizations accordingly.
- Determine estimated patient financial responsibility for imaging and durable medical equipment services.
- Investigate and resolve authorization and referral issues quickly and accurately.
- Maintain organized documentation and manage workflow tasks within the NextGen EMR system.
- Research insurance guidelines and coverage requirements to support timely patient care and reimbursement.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting handling insurance authorizations and verifications, including workers’ compensation.
- Working knowledge of NextGen or a similar EMR system.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance terminology.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
