Furniture Installer/Delivery driver (full time)

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and position furniture items according to customer specifications and floor plans
• Inspect furniture for damage before installation and report any issues immediately
• Safely transport furniture to installation sites, protecting items from damage during transit
• Use hand and power tools properly to ensure quality assembly of various furniture pieces
• Read and interpret furniture assembly instructions, diagrams, and schematics
• Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure timely furniture installation
• Maintain a clean and safe work area during and after installation
• Communicate professionally with customers to address questions or concerns
• Document completed installations and obtain customer sign-off on finished work
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation
• Driving/Delivery Operations: Retrieve orders from warehouse, load products in delivery vehicle, and ensure proper condition during transit
• Customer Service Excellence: Engage with customers before, during, and after delivery to provide exceptional experience
• Safe Transportation: Deliver customer orders to specified locations accurately and safely throughout the service area
• Order Management: Unload customer orders, obtain signatures, and assist with indoor placement when needed
• Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues
• Compliance: Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies

Installation areas include but are not limited to:

South and Central Texas

Deliveries include but are not limited to:

• Gregory, Portland, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas

Requirements:

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Driving Experience: Valid U.S. driver's license for 3 years and current valid Class C Texas driver's license (no CDL required)
• Excellent driving record
• No moving violations or preventable accidents in the past 3 years
• No DWI, DUI, or related convictions
• No felony convictions
• No suspended or revoked driver's licenses, permits, or privileges in any state/county (mandatory)

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in furniture assembly
• Ability to read and follow detailed assembly instructions and technical diagrams
• Basic math skills for measuring spaces and furniture dimensions
• Excellent time management to complete installations within scheduled timeframes
• Problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues during installation
• Attention to detail to ensure quality finished product
• Basic knowledge of different furniture materials and hardware
• Clear, professional communication skills when interacting with customers and team members
• Advanced customer service skills with a professional demeanor
• Proficiency with iPhone applications (GPS, messaging, signature apps)
• Ability to meet company and regulatory driving record requirements
• Strong teamwork capabilities while working independently
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to maintain tools and equipment
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities

Physical Requirements

• Physical stamina and strength to lift, carry, and maneuver furniture pieces & office supplies (typically up to 50-75 pounds)
• Physical capability to load/unload delivery vehicles
• Willingness to work in varying indoor/outdoor weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods (8 hour shifts)
• Capable of frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching during furniture assembly
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling small hardware and detailed assembly work
• Ability to climb stairs while carrying furniture or equipment when necessary
• Capacity to work in confined spaces when positioning furniture
• Visual acuity to read instructions, distinguish colors, and ensure proper alignment
• Ability to reach overhead and work with arms extended for installation of wall units or tall furniture
• Stamina to work at various elevations (using ladders or step stools when needed)
• Physical capability to push/pull heavy furniture items during positioning
• Ability to maintain balance when carrying awkward or bulky items

Additional Requirements

• Must pass drug screening
• Must pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records check (initial and periodic)
• Must maintain acceptable driving record throughout employment
