Description
- No service call schedule!** This position is primarily scheduled work. While there will be emergency situations, this is not a typical commercial HVAC service technician position. HVAC Start-Up Technician II is responsible for maintaining an open, positive, and professional line of communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal customers, and trade partners.

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)
- Perform start-up and commissioning of new HVAC/R equipment, including chillers (centrifugal, screw, scroll), air handlers, cooling towers, pumps, and VAV systems on commercial and industrial facilities.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing heating ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Log all startup information and service work orders into company provided iPad.
- Meet equipment startup deadlines and inform Service Manager of any issues.
- Maintain inventory and cleanliness of company provided vehicle.
- Cleaning adjusting and maintaining HVAC systems.
- Provide technical direction and on the job training to customers.
- Must be able to work after hours, weekends with short notice.
- Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, commercial and industrial.
- Know relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies and procedures for the installation and maintenance of systems.
- Ensure compliance with company and General contractor safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite requirements.
- Represent the company professionally while working with customers and other trades on active construction sites.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with commercial chiller systems (e.g., Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, etc.).
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Strong understanding of HVAC/R systems, control sequences, and commissioning best practices.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness and availability to work nights, weekends, overtime, and some overnight travel as required by project schedules.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- OSHA 10 required. OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Experience with BAS/BMS systems and control startup
- Climbing up and down ladders
- Push, pull and frequently carry objects as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. –
- Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. – Stand and walk for long periods of time. –
- See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
- Overtime and weekend availability, regular attendance
- Work in heat and various other weather conditions
- Possible travel to current job sites within Florida
