What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Quality Assurance position at Coastal Machine & Supply, Inc.?
The Director of Quality Assurance & Logistics owns the Quality Management System (QMS) and Logistics function end-to-end. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure Coastal consistently meets customer, regulatory, and operational expectations.
You will lead Quality Assurance, Safety, Shipping & Receiving, and Compliance, while driving continuous improvement across audits, corrective actions, supplier quality, and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (API Q1/AS9100 / ISO-based)
-Own internal, customer, and third-party audits and corrective action systems
-Establish quality strategy, metrics, and governance across the organization
-Oversee Shipping & Receiving, logistics workflows, and OTD performance
-Drive root cause analysis, CoPQ reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
-Partner with Manufacturing and QC leadership to ensure inspection rigor and process control
-Build, mentor, and scale high-performing QA and Logistics teams
-Serve as the senior point of contact for customer quality and compliance matters
