Architectural Designer Position Summary:
Coastal Luxury Homes is seeking an Architectural Designer to work with our in-house architecture department. The Architectural Designer will play a key role in all phases of the design and development of luxury residential projects, including concept, design production, construction documentation, and construction administration support. This position requires a highly detail-oriented and creative professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to produce high-quality visualizations that clearly communicate design intent to clients, builders, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce early feasibility studies to understand what a particular lot can yield, including setbacks, coverage, etc.
- Develop creative and refined architectural design concepts for luxury custom homes – both for clients and spec development projects.
- Produce accurate and highly detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Translate conceptual designs into technically sound construction documents that meet building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards.
- Create high-quality 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations to support design reviews and client presentations.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, interior designers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail to ensure design accuracy, consistency, and constructability.
- Participate in design meetings, client presentations, and internal reviews.
- Revise drawings and models based on feedback, field conditions, and project requirements.
- Support material selections, exterior detailing, and architectural finishes appropriate for luxury residential design.
- Work with project managers and interior designers to manage decision logs and ensure decisions are made in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior architecture.
- 5-year accredited degree or master’s degree in architecture is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in residential or luxury home design preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to design quality and precision.
- Highly creative with a strong sense of proportion, scale, and architectural and interior aesthetics.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in architectural drafting and detailing.
- Advanced proficiency in design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCad, SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
- Ability to produce high-quality renderings and 3D visualizations that clearly communicate design intent.
- Solid understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.
- Familiarity with interior architectural detailing and exterior envelope design
- Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
