Coastal Hospice invites you to join a team of caregivers who are committed to promoting dignity and quality of life for patients and families who face life-limiting conditions. We would love to talk with you about our current opening for:
Full-Time CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT at our Coastal Hospice at the Lake inpatient facility.
In this role you will:
- Work (3) 12 hour shifts per week (8pm-8am)
- Provide personal care, assistance with activities of daily living, homemaking and related assistance to patients.
- Communicate effectively and timely with supervising nurse and other hospice aides by performing change of shift rounds.
- Provide direct patient care as instructed by a RN and/or physical therapist.
- Provide emotional support to the patient and family which requires effective human relations skills.
- Provide 1:1 care and other patient/family assistance as assigned.
- Communicate effectively and timely with supervising nurse and other hospice aides by:
- Documenting services clearly and accurately by the end of each shift.
- Promptly reporting any significant change in patient’s condition.
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Maryland.
- Successful completion of training required by hospice regulations and standards.
- Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions.
- Sight, hearing and manual dexterity to function with or without prosthetics use that will enable these senses to function adequately to fulfill the requirements of the job.
- The ability to lift, push, pull or move patients, equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of 50 pounds with or without the use of adaptive/assistive devices.
- The ability to negotiate level and unlevel surfaces with or without the use of assistive devices
