Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty department; e.g., pediatric medical assistant exam.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience.
Other Requirements: Current documentation of medical assistant certification preferred. Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).

- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation.
- Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and diagnostic testing as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow all clinical policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in a medical office preferred; specialty clinic experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Experience with EMR systems.
