• Knowledge of State Vaccine for Children/ CHIP immunization program.
• Knowledge of vaccine storage and handling processes/ protocols.
• Knowledge of reports in MIIX and EHR.
• Willingness to adjust to the change of work location based on organizational needs on short notice.
• Must demonstrate emotional stability, ability to cope with stress and non-judgmental towards patient diversity.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during the workday.  Refer to the Physical Demand Analysis.

Qualifications/Education Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Must have a current license in the state of Mississippi or other compact licensure state.  Must obtain/maintain TB certification within 90 days of hire. The employee must have and maintain a valid BLS Certification. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is necessary. Must provide proof of minimal liability coverage as required by the state and will be required to provide updates when renewed. The employee must be able to demonstrate a caring attitude and helpful approach toward all patients. Must be self-directed, motivated, and work independently as well as within a team. Experience in primary care medical office practice, community health or public health setting is preferred but not required

• Performs vision and hearing tests, EKGs, injections, immunizations, CLIA wave testing, and other nursing procedures.
• Assist in Vaccine management as assigned by Direct of Nursing.
• Acts as an advocate for the patient and family.
• Provides patient and parent education as directed by Medical Provider.
• Supports performance improvement activities and policies.
• Ability to organize agendas, training material.
• Subject to frequent interruptions.
• May be required to work beyond normal hours, in other specialties, or different locations as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.
