Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to learn HIT and other applications as necessary.
- Knowledge of typical PC hardware and software installation.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and Health Information Technology (HIT) security risks and mitigation practices as applicable to role.
- Thorough understanding of LAN technologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the Coastal Family Health Care HIT support team.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
Qualifications/Education Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school, or GED certificate; knowledge of Active Directory
Core Competencies
- Prepares workstations by configuring hardware, software, printers and other peripherals.
- Performs troubleshooting, diagnostics and basic problem solving for desktops, laptops, tablets, printers and phones.
- Enhances workstation performance by installing upgrades/patches and recommending usage and other improvements.
- Manages reported items in the information systems trouble management system.
- Maintains hardware and software inventories.
- Tracks and documents actions by entering and updating IT support requests into Ticketing System.
- Acts as a point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email and remote control software.
- Required to carry a company supported cell phone.
- Monitors network firewall to identify network issues.
- Assists the Director of Information system in gathering pricing information and evaluating vendors for the purchase of new equipment.
- Troubleshooting computer, HIT system, and network issues.
- Opens tickets with IT vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
- Adds/Deletes domain users and create/delete accounts as directed by HR department.
- Assists Director of Information systems in managing active directory users including MS Exchange accounts.
- Provides input and assists Director of Information Technology in research for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Provides input on security risks to the HIT system and mitigations as defined by the CFHC Risk Analysis process and as applicable to this role.
- Installs new cable drops to extend networks.
- Travels to various sites to perform repairs and routine maintenance of network and computing hardware.
- Performs related tasks as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required.
