The Coastal Expeditions Foundation is in search of an intern to help capture photos and videos of

projects. The foundation was created in 2018 to support our three pillars that include:
conservation, education, and community. We are looking for someone that is passionate about
the environment and has experience taking high quality pictures and videos.
Interns will work with a variety of team members of Coastal Expeditions, including our
Marketing Director, Education Director, Cape Romain Manager, Captains, and Naturalist. Each
week you will be assigned to multiple trips to head out into the field to shoot the content and
then return to the office to upload and edit that day's material.
Programs include:
Environmental Education - Come along on our youth field trips to capture moments of students
on the boat and exploring our nearby islands. This includes Shem Creek, Charleston Harbor,
Bulls Island, in the classroom and more! Many of these programs are grant supported programs
for students that have never been to the beach or on the boat.
Service Events - Join us in taking out members of our community to participate in a service
event. This could be a litter clean up, planting marsh grass, or collecting seeds
Conservation Efforts - Much of work is partnering with like minded organizations in the
lowcountry to address any environmental issues and ways in which we can provide solutions. This includes funding the interns and technicians that collect data in Cape Romain for nesting
sea turtles, providing habitat for sea and shorebirds, and ….
Wildlife Tours - Capturing moments of the variety of trips we run day to day. This can include
kayaking tours on Shem Creek or Kiawah River, full day trips in the Francis Marion, milky way
trips on Bulls Island, shark tooth adventure to Morris Island, and much more!
Learning Outcomes
The internship is designed to expose you to the variety of ways in which someone can be of
