Position Overview:
COASTAL is seeking a Drainage / Stormwater Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team. This role will focus on the design and analysis of stormwater systems for large-scale residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and standalone commercial sites throughout the northern SWFWMD region.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform stormwater analysis and design for residential and commercial developments
· Develop grading plans for streets, lots, and overall site layouts
· Prepare and manage watershed and basin modeling (StormWise experience preferred)
· Design interconnected pond systems and routing
· Coordinate with utility, roadway, and environmental disciplines
· Assist with Environmental Resource Permitting (ERP) (SWFWMD, local jurisdictions)
· Ensure compliance with State, County, and Local Development Codes
· Contribute to site planning for subdivisions and commercial projects with conceptual analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (required)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- PE License or EIT actively pursuing licensure (required)
- Experience in stormwater/drainage design (required)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
- Experience with StormWise modeling (preferred/strongly desired)
- Familiarity with ArcGIS (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
This is a salaried, full-time position with core hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
