Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-minded Plant Operator to join our team at our Willow Springs, Missouri facility.
The plant operator will assist with the daily operation of our asphalt oil and propane gas terminal . This position is responsible for safely operating equipment, monitoring plant processes, loading and unloading trucks, unloading rail cars, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining accurate operational records.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate plant machinery and production equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitor equipment and plant processes to ensure proper operation
- Load and unload trucks
- Unload rail cars
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and loading records
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company safety procedures and environmental requirements
- Communicate equipment problems or operational concerns to management
- Assist with other plant duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work safely around industrial machinery and petroleum-based products
- Previous plant, manufacturing, equipment operation, or maintenance experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 100 lbs
- Ability and willingness to work in a mostly outdoor environement year round
