Road Driver

Position Overview: Responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

Key Duties

• Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and complete documentation.
• Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate any delays or issues.
• Load and unload freight as needed, perform chaining of tires, and may assume city driver or dock duties.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• At least 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds, sit for extended periods, and follow instructions.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
  
  

Working Conditions: Long-distance driving in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials. Overnight stays and variable hours may be required.
