Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: Responsible for transporting freight within dock areas, ensuring proper handling, securing, and documentation for loading and unloading trailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Verify freight details against documentation, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and assist with freight-related customer inquiries.
• Perform hostling duties if required and comply with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and work independently or in a team.
• Good communication skills; ability to handle physical demands such as bending, twisting, and lifting.
  
  

Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting requiring frequent contact with personnel.
