- Driving various truck configurations, including doubles and triples where applicable
- Performing daily safety inspections and trailer hookups
- Handling freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Securing freight inside trailers with straps, pallets, and ropes
- Verifying documentation, complying with hazardous material regulations, and maintaining records
- Communicating with dispatch and customers, soliciting additional business, and providing customer service
- Performing vehicle repairs like chaining tires and possibly duties of road drivers or dock employees when needed
- Class A CDL with endorsements for double/triple, hazardous materials, and tanks; automatic transmission restriction acceptable
- At least one year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations
- Ability to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and work independently or in a team
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
