Driver Class B

Position Overview: Responsible for the safe, professional, and timely pick-up and delivery of goods between service centers and customers. Duties include operating straight trucks, securing freight, performing safety inspections, and adhering to dispatch instructions. Also involves loading/unloading cargo, handling freight with manual and motorized equipment, and completing necessary documentation. Ensures compliance with hazardous materials regulations and maintains safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid CDL-Class B license with hazardous materials and tank endorsements.
• Minimum one year of experience in operating straight trucks or completion of a Driver Development Course.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to read route schedules and perform basic math.
  
  

Key Duties

• Operate trucks and perform pre-trip/post-trip safety checks.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Load and unload cargo, assist with freight handling, and maintain records.
• Follow safety procedures, comply with regulations, and communicate with dispatch.
• Manage documentation, collect freight charges, and ensure proper hazardous material handling.
  
  

Working Conditions: Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, driving in various weather conditions, and exposure to noise, dust, diesel fumes, and DOT-regulated hazardous materials.
