Driver - City

Role Overview: This position involves picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring timely and safe transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable.
• Perform daily safety and pre-trip equipment inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers, handle freight using motorized/manual equipment, and secure cargo with straps, pallets, and ropes.
• Verify documentation, comply with hazardous material regulations, and collect freight charges.
• Communicate with dispatch, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and solicit new business.
• Assist with tire chaining, and perform duties of road or dock roles if needed.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.
• At least one year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), DOT regulatory compliance, and ability to meet LCV standards in applicable states.
• Strong basic math, communication skills, physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the capacity to work independently or in teams.
  
  

Working Conditions: Drive in various weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and diesel fumes, with possible hours varying based on operational needs.
