We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties:
- Assist licensed pharmacists in filling prescription orders, and prepare medications for patient pickup.
- Verify patient information and manage patient records accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure patients receive the appropriate treatment and medication.
- Administer IV infusions and other medications as directed by a licensed pharmacist.
- Provide patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Participate in the review and processing of pharmacy claims and billing.
- Inhale medications as needed and maintain a thorough understanding of medication dosages and effects.
- Assist in the management of pharmacy inventory and supplies.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, including answering phones, filing, and photocopying.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician program or on-the-job training preferred.
- Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and acute care procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Excellent patient service skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, as well as push and pull medication carts.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Current certification in IV infusion techniques or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
