About Us
Coastal Cruisers is Newport’s eco-friendly tour service, offering guests a fun, memorable, and engaging way to explore the city. We’re expanding and are looking for knowledgeable and experienced tour guides who are also comfortable driving our low-speed vehicles (Coastal Cruisers).
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced tour guides who know Newport’s history, landmarks, and culture — and who can bring it to life for our riders. You’ll lead groups around Newport in one of our Coastal Cruiser vehicles, combining safe driving with engaging storytelling.
This is a customer-facing role — we want energetic, personable guides who can make every ride both safe and memorable.
Responsibilities
- Drive a Coastal Cruiser (electric Low Speed Vehicle) safely throughout Newport
- Provide guided tours highlighting Newport’s history, mansions, harbor, beaches, and local culture
- Deliver excellent customer service with a professional and welcoming attitude
- Assist guests with boarding, directions, and answering questions
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and presentable before and after each shift
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years with a valid Rhode Island driver’s license
- Good knowledge of Newport history, landmarks, and attractions
- Comfortable driving in city/tourist traffic and managing groups
- Outgoing, reliable, and professional demeanor
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour
