Role Description:
The Fork Truck Operator is a full-time, on-site position located in Holland, MI. This role is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload packaging materials and finished products throughout the facility. Day-to-day tasks include staging materials for production, organizing and rotating inventory, supplying manufacturing lines, and loading trucks for on-time delivery. The Fork Truck Operator will perform daily equipment inspections, follow all safety protocols, and maintain clean, orderly work areas. This role also involves working closely with production and shipping teams, following work orders, and accurately documenting material movements to support efficient operations.
Qualifications
- Forklift operation and material handling skills, including safe loading, unloading, and stacking of products.
- Warehouse and inventory management skills, such as basic stock rotation, staging, and organization of materials.
- Basic equipment inspection and maintenance skills to ensure forklifts and related equipment are in safe working condition.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, shipping documents, and production schedules, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to company policies, use of PPE, and safe driving practices.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production, shipping, and management personnel.
- Previous forklift or warehouse experience preferred; current forklift certification is a plus (company may provide training).
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
