What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director position at Coastal Conservation Association North Carolina?
Job Title: Regional Director Reports To: Executive Director
Primary responsibility is the growth and development of local CCA NC chapters across North Carolina to promote membership and assist with fundraising.
Duties include:
· Building positive relationships with existing chapter leaders.
· Attending all chapter meetings.
· Organizing, planning and executing annual chapter banquets in concert with local chapter leaders.
· Provide assistance and guidance for all CCA NC sponsored community events.
· Communicate and ensure that all chapter activities and events are consistent with CCA policies and procedures.
· Communicate to local chapter leaders any changes in board policy as they may affect chapter activities.
· Keep local chapter members informed of activities at the state CCA level including communication regarding fisheries management and habitat enhancement projects and encouraging advocacy engagement from the local membership.
· Provide assistance and guidance to each chapter leadership in communicating with their membership.
· Promote the growth of CCA NC by identifying locations for new CCA NC chapters.
· Build relationships in these new areas that will lead to the creation of new CCA NC chapters.
· Organize, plan and execute events that will lead to the formation of new chapters.
· Organize, plan and execute chapter banquets in new areas that will lead to annual fundraising events.
· Provide assistance and guidance for all CCA NC sponsored chapter events including fishing tournaments and other special events.
· Be informed on current fisheries management issues, conservation efforts and advocacy concerns so to be prepared to answer questions and keep the local chapters informed and educated on the mission of CCA NC to conserve and protect our coastal marine resources for the benefit of current and future citizens of North Carolina.
Requirements include:
· Must be a superb and versatile communicator with the ability to interface in a professional manner with board members, chapter leaders, members, volunteers, and professional representatives. Requires a proactive team player that can integrate a range of communication vehicles to address various audiences.
· Requires the confidence and judgment to work independently and to involve the Executive Director in decision-making as appropriate. Must be able to assess and respond appropriately to the needs of members and the public.
· Requires the ability to develop and implement innovative ideas for promotions, develop creative solutions to problems or situations, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high volume activity.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required to maintain office and chapter files. Maintain proficient level of knowledge about software applications and techniques that will aid in advancing a quality image and professionalism of the state office.
· Requires the ability to perform physical tasks involving loading and unloading banquet merchandise at events and moving items as part of inventory control. Some heavy lifting involved and extensive walking during the set up, execution and breakdown at banquets and special events.
· Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various locations across North Carolina for meetings and events.
· Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
