Job Summary
The Host/Hostess at Coastal Capri is the first and last impression of our restaurant. This role is responsible for warmly greeting guests, managing reservations through OpenTable, and pacing seating to ensure smooth service flow and an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:
* Greet all guests promptly and professionally with a friendly, welcoming attitude
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using OpenTable.
- Pace seating strategically to support kitchen and service staff during busy periods
- Communicate accurately with servers and management regarding table status and guest needs
- Manage walk ins efficiently while prioritizing reservations
- Accurately quote wait times and keep guests informed
- Maintain an organized host stand and clean entrance area
- Assist with guest questions, special requests, and accommodations
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them back
Experience
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or in a similar role within the food service or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving techniques and guest services.
- Experience with OpenTable is advantageous; knowledge of Toast POS is a plus.
