What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Coastal Bend Pain Management?
Seeking a Medical Assistant for our busy, growing, specialty practice. Our mission is to restore the quality of life to our patients through interventional treatments and complementary therapies in a compassionate and comfortable environment. This position includes but is not limited to;
- Greeting, triaging and discharging patients.
- Verifying patient information by interviewing patient, obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation and reviewing, recording and updating medical history.
- Aiding the health care providers during examinations
- Managing electronic prescriptions refills as directed
- Administering IM injections
- Documenting phone calls and messages with accuracy while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Making follow up appointments & completing necessary medical forms
- Obtaining correspondence reports from other offices and facilities
- Other related duties as assigned
- Able to or willing to learn how to maneuver C-Arm machinery a plus
Requirements
- Education/Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions and understand basic medical terminology
- Must be able to type 50 wpm
- Competent with technology (tablets, laptops, printing, scanning, etc.)
- Willingness to learn skills in a variety of areas
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, take direction and initiative.
- Self-Motivated
Experience
- 2 years preferred (Willing to train)
- Bilingual a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology (preferred)
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
