Role Description

The Director of IT Services / Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is a full-time, on-site position located in McAllen, TX. The role includes leading the college's IT strategy, managing technology infrastructure, ensuring the security of information systems, and overseeing IT budgets and policies. The individual will work closely with leadership to implement innovative technology solutions, monitor and mitigate cybersecurity risks, and ensure compliance with IT security standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves managing IT staff, overseeing system performance, and responding to IT-related challenges.

Qualifications

• Expertise in IT Strategy, Technology Infrastructure Management, and IT Project Management
• Proficiency in Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and Compliance Standards
• Leadership experience, including Team Management and Cross-Departmental Collaborations
• Knowledge of Network Security, Data Protection, and Disaster Recovery Planning
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay updated on emerging technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable
• Experience working in educational institutions or public organizations is a plus
