Duties
- Perform soldering of surface mount technology (SMT) components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) following detailed schematics and IPC 610 standards.
- Assemble electronic modules by wiring electrical components and connecting mechanical parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate component placement and wiring.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers and ohmmeters to verify component dimensions, electrical continuity, and circuit integrity.
- Conduct quality inspections of solder joints and assemblies to meet IPC 610 standards for manufacturing excellence.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation adhering to safety protocols while handling sensitive electronic components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on troubleshooting issues related to soldering processes or assembly errors, ensuring continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience with PCB assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), and soldering techniques in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of schematics, electrical wiring, and mechanical assembly processes.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
- Knowledge of IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies is highly desirable.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, calipers, ohmmeters, and machining equipment accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience to troubleshoot assembly issues effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control during the soldering process.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
