Why This Role Is Incredible
As a Veterinary Assistant / Scribe you will be immersed in cutting-edge veterinary cardiology, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of diagnostic and treatment procedures. We’re looking for curious, driven, animal-loving humans to join our team as Veterinary Assistants / Scribes. This isn’t a job—it is joining a team that offers a front-row seat to cutting-edge veterinary cardiology.
What You’ll Do
- Support our doctors and technicians in a fast-paced, specialty care environment.
- Assist with blood draws and in-house analysis, doppler blood pressure monitoring, 7- and 12-lead electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and radiographs. Experience is ideal, but onsite training is available.
- Participate in emergency interventions such as thoracocentesis and pericardiocentesis.
- Care for hospitalized patients, monitor vital signs, and help with recovery.
- In our Newton office be a part of fluoroscopic heart surgeries, including pacemaker implantations, balloon valvuloplasty, and patent ductus arteriosus occlusions.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and assist with documentation during procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and referring veterinarians, ensuring pets and families feel cared for and treated as we would want our own furry family member treated.
- Learn from board-certified veterinary cardiologists every single day.
What We’re Looking For
- Team players with a can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn advanced veterinary techniques and contribute to high-level patient care in a specialty setting.
- Attention to detail and organization, with solid computer skills (typing speed not a barrier—just the ability to keep up with medical records).
- Adaptability and reliability in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Experience in veterinary medicine or pre-veterinary/pre-medical coursework is a plus, but your curiosity and drive matter most.
Extra Perks
- Hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostics and interventions with the highest standard of patient care.
- Collaborative and supportive team culture.
- Opportunity for mentorship, growth, and professional development.
- Flexible scheduling and consideration for your preferred location.
