- Supports completion of patient testing in a timely manner and evaluates Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness.
- Conducts comprehensive pre-procedural assessments including medical history, renal function, cardiac status, and contraindications to contrast or medications.
- Administers and titrates medications per protocol to achieve optimal heart rate control for image quality.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate IV access for contrast administration including use of power injectors.
- Implements evidence-based practices to reduce risk of contrast-related complications including extravasation and allergic reactions.
- Monitors patients continuously before, during, and after CCTA procedures and responds promptly to clinical changes.
- Provides patient education and ensures informed consent explaining procedure expectations and post-procedure care.
- Collaborates with radiologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality imaging.
- Ensures adherence to departmental protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Documents care accurately in electronic medical record including medications, patient response, and procedural details.
- Responds to emergencies including contrast reactions and acute clinical events following established protocols and ACLS guidelines.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and maintains competency in cardiac imaging and contrast safety practices.
- Performs comprehensive pre-procedural patient assessments including medication reconciliation, allergies, and verification of ordered imaging studies.
- Ensures patient readiness for imaging procedures including NPO status, lab review, and screening for contraindications.
- Administers medications as ordered and monitors for adverse reactions.
- Provides continuous patient monitoring during procedures with prompt recognition and intervention for changes in patient condition.
- Delivers clear, patient-centered education regarding procedure expectations, preparation, risks, and post-procedure instructions.
- Ensures adherence to infection prevention practices, patient safety goals, and regulatory requirements.
- Job Requirements
- 2 years critical care experience required.
- 3-5 years cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or cardiac imaging experience required.
- 3-5 years Radiology outpatient or Interventional radiology Imaging experience required.
- RN License required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong IV insertion skills including ability to access implanted chest ports.

- Monday – Friday 9am - 5pm
- Friday 9am - 5pm shifts for RN positions

- Responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, cardiac imaging, and radiology outpatient or interventional radiology imaging.
