Breakfast Attendant/Houseman

Job Summary: Prepares, serves, and shuts down/cleans up the daily complimentary breakfast for hotel guests, while meeting established standards of cleanliness and friendliness to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.

Job Duties:

· Prepares foods such as eggs, omelets (If hotel has omelet station), sausage biscuits, waffle batter, gravy, etc.

· Cleans and cuts up/preps veggies and meats for omelet bar.

· Stock coffee, milk, and juice machines or dispensers.

· Clears and cleans tables as they are vacated.

· Wipes up spills and removes trash

· Washes serving equipment and returns to storage.

· Returns reusable food supplies to storage with proper dates on products.

· Restocks self-service food and supplies as needed.

· Cleans and sweeps the breakfast area.

· Follows city, county, and/or state guidelines on food prep, storage, and other items the inspector gives to the hotel.

· Creates schedules for the breakfast attendant assistants.

· Takes inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day.

· Orders or purchases food supplies.

· Engages guests in fruitful conversations as time and circumstances permit. *

*Ascertains purpose of guest visit to be shared with hotel sales director.

Qualifications:

· Prior customer service experience preferred.

· Ability to work long hours if needed.

· Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

· Ability to multi-task.

· Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

· Food handler certificate

· Ability to think creatively/prepare a variety of breakfast items from stocked food shelves.

· Controls waste effectively-minimizing excess expenditures.

· Familiarity with convection oven use and other equipment use (e.g. meat slicer).

Pay: $17.13 - $19.00 per hour
