Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
- Developing long-term plans, policies, and goals for a large museum, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and ethical standards; Oversee budget and contracts that support operations.
- Overseeing the acquisition, conservation, and curation of items, ensuring they meet professional standards for exhibition and research.
- Representing museums to the public, government, and media, fostering partnerships with cultural and academic institutions.
- Recruiting, mentoring, and managing staff and operations within a museum to create a productive work culture.
NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

Responsibilities:
You will serve as the Deputy Director at the National Coast Guard Museum and be responsible for providing organizational leadership and overseeing the overall administrative management of the museum, including implementation of strategic objectives and organizational initiatives.

- Developing, coordinating, and executing policies and procedures affecting Museum operations.
- Coordinating strategic planning for the Museum and working with department heads to establish long-range goals and plans.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships within the museum departments.
- Collaborating with the Director to handle communications and scheduling of meetings with senior Coast Guard leadership.
- Developing, analyzing, and evaluating new or modified program/management policies, regulations, goals, or
objectives.
