Role Description
This position is for a full-time Certified 2 Year Flight Instructor (CFI/II) at our San Marcos, TX location. As a CFI, you will provide high-quality flight training to students, fostering an environment that emphasizes safety, professionalism, and technical expertise. Responsibilities include conducting flight and ground training in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, monitoring student progress, and maintaining detailed training records. You will also perform routine administrative tasks related to student documentation and contribute to maintaining Coast Flight’s standard of excellence. Additionally, CFIs are expected to mentor aspiring pilots and support their career advancement.
Qualifications
- Strong technical aviation knowledge, including expertise in FAA regulations, flight maneuvers, and aeronautical decision-making
- Proficiency in communication, instruction, and mentoring, with the ability to effectively teach and guide students
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and professional conduct
- A valid Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate is required
- Experience with individual or group flight instruction, ensuring consistent student progress
- Ability to evaluate student performance and adapt instructional techniques as needed
- Minimum flight time and qualifications per FAA regulations
- Experience working in a structured flight training environment is beneficial
