Temporary 1:1 Teacher Aide

Are you passionate about working with young children and making a meaningful impact every day? Join our team at The Starting Place, a preschool in Hudson, NY, as a Temporary 1:1 Teacher Aide and help support children with special education needs in a warm and nurturing environment.
Location: Hudson, NY
Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 1:45 PM
Duration: Temporary position
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individual students in the classroom under the direction of the lead teacher
- Assist with implementing instructional activities and daily routines
- Help children with daily living skills (toileting, eating, dressing, etc.)
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with classroom staff and clinicians
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- Provide supervision during recreational time and bus arrivals/departures
- Be flexible to assist in other classrooms as needed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (TASC) required
- At least 1 year of experience working with preschool-aged children in a special education setting
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications (trainings held on weekdays)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally
- Willingness to assist across classrooms when needed
