Direct Support Professional – Daytime hours

Location: Valatie, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Coarc's Day Habilitation program, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by supporting their independence, growth, and engagement in meaningful daily activities.
You will work directly with individuals in a community-based or center-based setting, helping them develop and maintain skills in areas such as communication, social interaction, self-care, and community involvement. This is a hands-on, people-focused position where every day brings new opportunities to make a difference.
You don't need a healthcare background-just compassion, patience, and a desire to help others thrive.
What You'll Do:
- Build real relationships and become a trusted support in someone's life.
- Help individuals with daily activities, skill-building, community involvement, and personal growth.
- Promote independence, health, and well-being.
- Participate in activities that help people discover their strengths and connect with others.
- Provide respectful, person-centered support in line with each individual's goals and dreams.
This is a weekday-only, daytime position-perfect for those looking for work-life balance.
You're a Great Fit If You:
- Are caring, dependable, and enjoy helping others.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Can lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Have (or are willing to earn) certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and medication administration.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities is a plus but not required.
